Length guide

14" sits high on the neck · 16" at the base of the neck · 18" just below the collarbone · 20"–22" mid-chest. Buying as a surprise for an adult? 18" is the safest choice.

About longer names

The oval is a fixed shape, so unlike our cut-out nameplates the plate does not get wider with a longer name — a longer name is set smaller instead. If your name is on the longer side, message us first and we'll tell you honestly how it will look at this size before you buy. It is the one question worth asking on this piece.

Why solid 14K, not gold-filled or vermeil

Gold-filled and vermeil pieces are a thin gold skin over brass or silver — and on rose gold in particular, that skin goes coppery and patchy as it wears. This piece is solid 14K rose gold all the way through, stamped 14K. The colour is in the alloy, not on the surface, so it cannot wear off. It can be polished and repaired forever, and it holds its metal value.

Care

Solid gold needs almost nothing. Warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush, dried with a soft cloth. Keep it out of chlorine. Message us any time for a free re-polish on anything you bought from us.
