For the ones who want the heaviest piece in the room.
The Old English font carries weight — literally and culturally. It is the font of the street, of the tattoo, of the record sleeve, and it has been on New York chains since before nameplates went mainstream. Cast letter by letter in solid 14K gold, then hand-filed and polished. There is more metal in this font than in any other we make, and you feel it the moment you pick it up.

How to order
Type the name exactly as you want it made. Capitals and lowercase both work in this font and they look very different — all caps reads like a plaque, mixed case reads like a signature. Type it the way you want to wear it, then choose your chain length.
Read this before you order a long name
Old English letters are wide and ornate, so this font runs noticeably wider than our Script or Bold Block at the same letter height. A five-letter name in Old English is roughly the width of a seven-letter name in script. On longer names the letterforms can also start to crowd, which is a legibility question, not just a size one. Message us with the name before you buy and we'll tell you honestly how it will read — on this font we would rather talk first.
Length guide
14" sits high on the neck · 16" at the base of the neck · 18" just below the collarbone · 20"–22" mid-chest. This is a heavy piece, and heavier pieces hang better with a little more length — most people who buy this one go 20" or 22".
Why solid 14K, not gold-filled or vermeil
Gold-filled and vermeil pieces are a thin gold skin over brass or silver, and an ornate font has far more edge and corner for that skin to wear off. They look identical on day one and go patchy within a year or two, which is why they cost a sixth of this. This piece is solid 14K gold all the way through, stamped 14K. It will not flake, it will not turn your skin green, it can be polished and repaired forever, and it holds its metal value.
Care
Solid gold needs almost nothing. Warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush — pay attention to the corners of the letterforms, which is where an ornate font collects everything. Dry with a soft cloth. Message us any time for a free re-polish on anything you bought from us.
